The history of Armani/Casa

In 2000 Armani/Casa was launched, so Giorgio Armani could finally give a home to his love of interior design. The curiosity for new business areas gave rise to the LOGO lamp back in the 1980s, which became the hallmark of the collection. This proved that the sense of aesthetics goes far beyond the boundaries of fashion. The fascination with the style of the 1930s to 1940s, which inspired Giorgio Armani for his fashion, is also reflected in his furniture and accessory design. In recent years, the Armani/Casa project has grown from strength to strength. In this context, the two Armani hotels in the Burj Khalifa (Dubai) and in Milan are among the most significant successes of the brand.

To meet the demand for individual interior design projects from private clients, the Studio for Interior Design Services was founded in 2004 under the direct management of Giorgio Armani. Some luxurious residences worldwide have already been designed and furnished with harmonious elegance.

Designer Giorgio Armani

Armani was one of the greatest fashion designers of the 20th century and also demonstrated his outstanding skills in the interior design sector with his flair for colors, materials and shapes. In 1975, he founded the fashion company Giorgio Armani SpA, which operates more than 2000 stores worldwide. The entrepreneur was born in Piacenza, Italy, in 1934 and worked as a window dresser after dropping out of medical school. He then became an exhibition arranger, then a fashion buyer and then worked his way up to become head of the men's fashion boutique at the Milan department store La Rinascente.

From 1970 he ran his own design studio with his partner Sergio Galeotti (1945-1985) and a few years later published his first collection and then together with Galeotti founded the fashion company Armani, which initially designed only menswear. In 1985, Armani's friend and business partner Galeotti died and Giorgio took over his duties. In 1991, Armani split the company into different divisions into "Giorgio Armani", "Emporio Armani" and "Mani". Other fashion sub-brands and other divisions such as Armani/Casa and Giorgio Armani beauty followed.

Giorgio Armani passed away on September 4, 2025, leaving behind his unforgettable and unique style for the fashion and interior design world.
